Stewart's BIG Day

My little guy turned one today! Stewart will always have a special place in my heart and I am so grateful to be his momma. I have loved the realization that children come with their own personalities and quirks. It has been so much fun getting to learn about Stew's. He is so sweet and tender-hearted. He absolutely loves his sister and I knew a long time ago that they are going to be special friends. My very most favorite thing in the world right now is to see and mostly HEAR Lily and Stewart playing together. The laugh that comes out of each of their little bodies when they play is the most genuine, adorable, loving laugh and I cannot help but laugh with them. Stew is a little biter, and it can hurt! But, I know that he is doing it out of love (and the occasional, "I'm hungry") so it is hard to discipline him.

We had the family over for a little celebration and traditional cake eat. Remembering back to Lily's cake eat was kinda sad. It was late and she is a girl after my own heart. She hates to get messy and have sticky hands. She didn't want anything to do with her cake. I was a little bummed about it cause it is always so fun to see babies break out and do what they will to a delish-looking cake of their own! I had higher hope for my ALL boy though. He is not afraid to get his hands messy, it's not a rare thing to find him trying to snarf down some dirt chunks in the yard.

So bring on the spider cake... (spider being that he is our little spider crawler and it is a fitting nickname given by his sweet sister)

He had a slow start but he did pretty good! Although, I never quite know how to handle these dirty situations, even if it is just harmless brown frosting. Thank goodness Grandma Stewart knows just what to do (THANKS Mom for getting my boy sparkling clean again)!

Lily was so happy to help with Stew's birthday... unwrapping presents, helping him dig into his cake, being in the spotlight :) She is so good to her brother and Paul and I are so blessed to have such amazingly sweet children!
