Tonight Stewart said his very first prayer without being helped, and it's Father's Day to make it that much more special. At the end of it Daddy, Lily, and I all cheered for him and his smile was priceless. His sweet prayer went like this -
"Heavenly Father….day….blessings….Jesus Christ….amen. "
I love seeing my children learn and grow, especially in their little seedlings of a testimony of the Savior and the gospel. It refuels my own testimony to see their pure faith.

Lily Quotes: 2nd Edition
October 30, 2013 - Right after singing Lily's night-time song to her she tells me - "Even if you're not a good singer, Heavenly Father still loves you."
October 18, 2013 - I was preparing my very first Sharing Time lesson (yes, I am Primary President - shocker!!) and trying to gage how basic I need to be with the Junior Primary, I asked Lily to tell me something about the temple. She said, "You love the temple song because you're going to die". Completely lost for words that is what came to her mind when I mention "temple", I remembered about 2 weeks ago I was singing "I Love to See the Temple" to her for her night-time song. After the song I explained to her that it was my very most favorite song because it teaches us the importance of the temple. That we can be together as a family forever because Mommy and Daddy were married in the temple. I probably should have stopped there but I told her that even when I die, we will be together again because of the blessings of the temple. She was nervous for a few days that I was going to be dying, but after reassuring her multiple times that it wouldn't be "until she was Grandma Heslop and Grandma Stewart's ages" she calmed down a bit. But, now when she thinks of temple, she immediately thinks of my death. The things that happen when I try to teach a child the gospel. Now with my new Primary calling, I will get lots of practice at it!
March 30, 2013 - When I was getting Lily ready for bed tonight, I raised my eyebrows while trying to pull her jammie top over her head. Noticing the wrinkles form on my forehead, she says almost laughing, "You have stripes!"
January 8, 2013 - "Mama, you know what I want to be when I grow up?"
"No Lily, what?!"
"I want to be a Mama!"
December 1, 2012 - "Cows lay milk." She said while holding her "pigs in the bum" toy cow. I laughed and asked her where she learned that. She said, "From Jesus."
October 1, 2012 - Lily was talking to "Abecca" and "Acky" this morning. I asked her where Mimi and Lickey were and she said, "Mom, I don't have Mimi & Lickey anymore." Referring to her imaginary buddies, and so I asked, "Why?" and she answered, "Because I don't like a little person, I like a big person!"
So than I asked her more about Abecca and Acky, which I have heard her talking to for a couple months now. They are both girls, Abecca is 3, like Lily, and Acky is 4! I love the imagination of my sweet little girl. Hopefully this means that she got her Daddy's creativity. Not that Paul talks to imaginary people, he just can envision much more than I can :)
August 20, 2012 - "I love my Mommy, I love my Daddy, I love my brother, and I love MYSELF!" I'm glad that she has a good self esteem with high self worth! I would love to take the credit for that little lesson, but then it also makes me wonder what her lesson in nursery was yesterday :)

Where Piggies Come From
(at least according to Lily). I love those moments in life that are so genuinely hilarious that even though you may be trying to hold back, all you can do is laugh out loud. But, I am not referring to those horrid times I can't stop laughing when I see someone get hurt. That is a whole other story which I am trying to work on because I have been told it is a horrible trait I apparently inherited. Someday maybe I'll expound but for now, back to where pigs come from...
So I'm driving in the car and Lily and Stew are in the back playing with their usual car toys. Out of nowhere in particular, Lily says, "Cows have piggies in their bums!" I of course thought I heard her wrong and said, "What!?" She said again, like she had discovered this great mystery, "Cows have piggies in their bums!!" Thinking she had been given some incorrect information by some little cousins she had recently played with, I asked, "Who told you that?" She quickly held up her toy cow and said, "See Mom, there's a piggie in it's bum!"
Trying to correct my sweet daughter and not wanting her to be confused in this world was very difficult in that moment. She doesn't seem to take me very seriously when I'm laughing through every word I spit out. So I just enjoyed the moment of my innocent little child trying to learn things on her own. She is very observant and I can't blame her for her own theories on where pigs come from.

Lily Quotes
I've been meaning to create a place to store all of Lily's funny little things she says. She is such a smart, sassy, and caring little girl that I want to be able to look back and remember all my little Lily quotes...
July 26, 2012 - Lily says, "Stewart is a little child of God." Melted my heart! It was so simple and precious. In that moment I had to scoop up my little boy and give him a squeeze and kiss. Lily reminded me that her and Stewart are children of God and that I have been given a gift of motherhood and the responsibility to take care of them. I need do it to the best of my ability and remember that they are children of God more often! I sure love my little Lily for her sweet reminders :)

April 13, 2012 - Grandma and Grandpa Stewart moved to St. George two weeks ago and I've have been trying to explain to Lily that they don't live in their house anymore. I tell her that when Daddy goes on another business trip we can go visit Grandma and Grandpa in their new house. So tonight during Lily's prayer she added, "thank you Daddy goes on a trip so we can go to St. George." I think she is looking forward to Paul's next airplane ride even though I know that she misses him terribly when he is gone!
March 28, 2012 - While leaving Harmon's Lily asked, "where we going next?" I said that we were going home to have lunch and asked her if she wanted a sandwhich or chicken nuggets. She said, "chicken nuggets! Can I have both ranch and ketchup?" and I said "sure!" Then Lily said, "thank you for being such a good, nice mom!" (normally I only let her have ketchup or ranch). I guess I know how to get on her happy, good side now :)
March 21, 2012 - Stewart was eating some dirt out of a potted plant so with a slightly raised voice I said, "Stewart NOO!" Lily came rushing in to see what was wrong. Once she realized it was no big deal she turned and started walking out of the room saying, "He's just a little baby mom." I love that she is teaching me patience and love in so many different ways!
Also today she said while on the potty and looking at her new size 4 big girl panties, "my bum got big so now I get to wear these panties!"
Many times since she was about 2 1/2 when I have become frazzled or upset by something she sweetly asks, "Are you happy momma?" It immediately makes me forget whatever insignificant problem was getting the best of me because I have such a sweet, caring little child.
